One big post-SPDP thank you 💌
Stirring from our post-virtual event exhaustion to write you all a lil letter!
It has officially been one week since SPDP 2021! While we are admittedly pretty exhausted, we’re 100% grateful for everyone who attended and supported our event.
We would just like to mention our partners who made the event possible: Japan Foundation, Meralco, and Canva. Thank you also to our media partners, who enriched the whole experience of the event: Adobo Magazine, Create Philippines, Kids for Kids, Muni, Grid Magazine, CNN Life, and Design Center of the Philippines, Manila Community Radio, Circulo, and Ashoka.
As much as we want to hibernate and regenerate (heh) for the next few weeks, we really wanted to send this one over just to say thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, attended the workshops, or hung out on Gather Town. We count ourselves lucky to be a part of such a vibrant community of artists and creatives.

We’ll be doing a post-processing event on the Design Dialogues Discord channel tomorrow, October 16, sponsored by our great friends from Muni. Hope to see you there or if you’d just like to listen in! Dropping a link below. Hurry! The invite expires after 7 days.
If you weren’t able to attend the event, an official recording will be sent to all registered attendees this Sunday, October 17. If you haven’t received anything by then, do not hesitate to contact us through collaborate@and-a-half.ph.
As with all things, we learn as we go. We will be sending a feedback form in a separate email and we would appreciate any and all responses! Your feedback will help us understand how to improve, as well as assist us in applying for grants to further gain support and resources for events like these.Â
Designing SPDP 2021
We also wanted to take the time to talk a little bit about the process behind how we designed the SPDP 2021 brand identity and experience. We’ve uploaded a whole new entry on our portfolio if you’d like to read through about the thinking behind the design. The gist of it is: We wanted to reframe how we talk about the crises here and abroad. We wanted our design to work hand-in-hand with our theme of regeneration and circular strategies. We came up with an identity that looked to the future by finding the answers in nature.
Sofi Bautista and Tim Lopez also did this interview with Create Philippines on how we did the hybrid experience. [READ: How design studio And A Half built an online immersive space for SPDP 2021]
No final words for now! Except that we’d love to see you on our Discord channel. We have another free event coming up on the 22nd, this time with Berocca for a virtual round table on Mental Health and Creativity.
And that’s it for us. Hope you all have a wonderful + restful weekend.
We hope to see you around soon! On Discord maybe?
