A K-POP TALK BY AND A HALF!! 🥴 💣 🥴
Okay. Before COVID, back when we had our old office, we’d usually scream and dance to K-pop in the afternoon (at 6:00 p.m. KST to be precise). And more often, we’d invite friends to scream and dance with us. For better or for worse, K-pop has become a huge part of our personality as a studio. But ever since we’ve had to let go of our office and take our face-to-face interactions to Zoom, you can only imagine just how much pent-up energy we’ve stored up since then.
Which is why! We’re extremely nervous and excited to invite all of you to Steps to a Comeback, And A Half’s Warm Up class in collaboration with Fifth Wall Fest, the country’s premier dance film festival. Here’s the official class description:
Hana dul set, COLLABORATE! And A Half-K imnida! Why do they call it a comeback? What are they coming back from? And A Half, an independent branding and design studio, breaks down the K-pop comeback. We will explore its intersections with performance, production, experience, and product design. A highly interactive class, open to seasoned K-pop fans and the K-pop curious.
All classes will be held on Zoom and are set in the GMT+8 Timezone. The registration fee is P250! Come in your best K-pop outfit.
Our video for Create Philippines 💖
About a month ago, Jonty Cruz and Cong. Toff de Venecia asked us to put together a video for CITEM's Creative Futures 2021 event, a 2-day online conference on the current state of the creative economy and the future of the industry.
They wanted to showcase the value and potential of the Filipino creative industry and to build support for the Creative Industries Act, an enabling policy and governance framework that helps develop our creative industries so that they can be viable and sustainable career choices and to help us become more globally competitive.
“What the Bill promises is for a National Creative Industries Development Plan to be put in place that will 1) Help creative industries survive the current crisis; 2) Define and incentivize high potential creative industries; 3) Promote policies both nationally and at a local community level that help raise our capabilities as a world class Creative Nation,”
- Paolo Mercado, President of the Creative Council of the Philippines Adobomagazine
In collaboration with Toff's team and our Sound Design partner (King Puentispina), we drafted a storyboard which we then illustrated, animated, and edited.
