Half a year of Workshops 🧰ðŸ›
Quick case studies on Unilab, Pangasinan's 4th District, and Berocca.
It’s been almost half a year since we first launched the And A Half workshops, our latest core offering as a studio. We designed them for creative teams, both big and small, who want to lean into creative thinking in order to grow their brands.
As a new service, we’ve also been learning along the way. And our biggest takeaway is that every creative team is different. There is no one-size-fits-all or one-size-fits-most model when it comes to creative thinking. So we’re taking this space to talk about three of our biggest workshops since we launched!
Unilab
Creative Team Training and Consultation, with a focus on Brand Identity
Three sessions with lectures spread out over a month
1:1 mentoring with Unilab’s designers
Our involvement with United Laboratories, Inc., better known as Unilab, was a kind of training camp with three of their in-house designers. We designed an intensive 1:1 mentorship program to focus on these three topics: the visual identity system, creative ideation (logos + key visuals), and brand storytelling and feedback.
All three sessions lasted about 2-3 hours and were conducted on Miro and Zoom over the span of a month. Participants were expected to create work under the guidance of And A Half mentors. All in all, the goal was to give our mentees the confidence and working frameworks to create designs for Unilab, rooted in a strong rationale and creative exploration.
Pangasinan 4th District
Logo mentorship program with designers from Pangasinan’s 4th District
Three sessions spread out over a month
Lecture + working sessions for local designers to come up with a logo for their district
Part of Pangasinan’s 4th district (P4D) Representative Christopher de Venecia’s advocacy of activating P4D’s local creative economy was to tap local designers. He held a contest for Pangasinense graphic designers to come up with a logo that could best represent their district.
The 4th district, which consists of the city of Dagupan and adjacent municipalities of Manaoag, Mangaldan, San Fabian, and San Jacinto, needed a logo that could boast their identity and champion their district’s unique heritage.
We were invited by Cong. Toff to come on as mentors, to aid their designers while they each developed their unique logos. Part of our program was to provide them with the foundations of branding and personalized feedback for each of them.
Berocca
Design-Driven Mindset Workshop
A free one-day workshop for anyone interested in design and creative thinking
In partnership with Berocca and the Berocca Supercharged Squad, we held a free Design-Driven Mindset Workshop for members of the Berocca community, which focuses on a collaborative approach to problem-solving with design.
It has been a fun experience so far and we’re grateful to everyone who has helped us grow this service. We’re always looking out for the next thing for our studio, and being a part of different design communities continues to enrich what we believe about design, what it can do, and who it serves.
If you feel like this is something for you or your team, learn more about the service here or inquire with us so we can create a program tailor-fit to the needs of your team.
Have a wonderful Saturday!
