We thought we’d take stock of the year that was and the year to come with a quick round-up of some of the studio’s activities, past, and future.
On Making An Impact ✨
Two of our designers, Addi and Trixia, talk about the impact of design beyond the commercial space, and our role as creatives on the PINO Pod, PINO Studio’s podcast on creativity.

Portforlieaur updates 🕴️
Just a quick rundown of the latest branding projects on our website: Crazy Acres, Ginto, and Morning.
Crazy Acres is a retail chicken brand available online and in most PureGold and Robinsons Supermarkets in Metro Manila. When we designed the brand, we wanted Crazy Acres to stand out from the rest of the frozen section. Next time you’re in the mood for chicken wings, thighs, or breasts, just look for the crazy eyes. 🤪
Pleased to share that we also designed the label of Ginto, the barrel-aged gin of Tanduay Distillers. A little bit of backstory here: we had just finished attending Marian Pastor Roces’ talk on traditional and pre-colonial art for Manila Fame 2019, where we learned a lot about our pre-colonial material history and the artistry that went into our use of gold. Ginto retails for about P125 online or in sari-sari stores nationwide.
We also got tapped by Morning, a Kickstarter coffee machine, to visualize their process from bean to brew. Imagine all the flavors of third-wave coffee in a single pod. We worked with our sound design partner King Puentespina to help bring this video to life.
Kinderkind, Kodigo, Pocket Garden
Besides branding work, we launched a few of our self-initiated projects this year. At the studio, some members try and come up with their own projects and we work together to bring them to life. This year, we had empathy toys in Kinderkind, a free plug-in called Kodigo, and helped set up a space design collective called Pocket Garden. Read more about them on the website or the Pocket Garden microsite.
Workshops!!
Last month, we launched Workshops. Our latest service for creative teams looking to build and grow their brands. Workshops range from lecture series to facilitated workshops. As design becomes more accessible through technology like Canva, we come in to help teams develop design-forward mindsets and to think holistically. Want to learn more about Workshops or see what fits your team? You can take the diagnosis test on our microsite.
Coming up! 👀
This June 27, Sunday at 2pm, we will be facilitating a talk at NudeFloor on Fostering a Design-Thinking Mindset with our head of R&D, Petra. It will be a lite version of what we offer at Workshops, and we’ll be talking about the benefits of design rooted in empathy and how effective co-creation can lead to better outcomes. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can over on the NudeFloor website for P400.
